Rebound Day
The only way was up!
I slept a bloody lot yesterday and last night. I also replied to a heap of messages last night between naps but I think a number of you got some random mmmnnfdjs at the end as I fell asleep composing, then waking, then more composing, then sleeping, then sending them with one eye open hahaha
The nurses really had to get me going this morning which I was a bit resentful of at the time. I was ready to sleep another day away. However it’s played out well. A shower, a fresh bed and finally out of my gown into my pjs got me in better shape and mindset.
Brie dropped in and helped me get my sauna here sorted. It’s been really hot in here which is not helped by a brace around your neck that feels like a beanie in summer! Seems the air vent was set to heating, which was amplified by my curtains being broken and the sun beaming in! (Nana Joy did a pop in yesterday and tried to fix them!). Turns out I wasn’t having temperatures or baclofen sweats after all. I was just genuinely bloody hot haha
We had a lunch date and she supervised my lap around the floor. Enjoy her video taking advantage of how ridiculous I look!! I managed to time my break midway for a Xmas photo shoot!! And we laughed at how ridiculous I look haha
My physio came again and had me practice 3 stairs so I can navigate curbs etc. And she’s convinced me I should rent a wheelie walker for a week or two!! Yep, how cool 🙄 She said at least that way I can leave the house for a coffee or something to eat (since we are staying in South Bank) but not stress about tiring. I’d thought I’d use my old cane I have in my car but she said if I dropped that it would be troublesome picking it up and she didn’t want another neck injury. Fair call haha
(As I type now, it’s TBD if I’ll go ahead with that. If I’m stronger tomorrow I think I’ll be fine, and/or Jen & Mick can pick up my cane…otherwise, stay tuned for the new wheels which Nana Joy has offered to lend me!).
They Physio agreed I can be released tomorrow with the right aids in place given Nurse Jenbo and Mick have arrived to supervise me. Just now need final sign off at the surgeons end.
Grateful to Suz and Ailsa for picking M&J up at the airport and getting them to my car at Hans and Carls. Nothing like some Corowa legends picking up the Corowa parentals. Like a little Corowa in Brissie!
Historically Jen & Mick have been a bit cursed with their Brisbane stays…. Torrential rain, food poisoning, broken nose, caught the real flu (insert other shitty things here)…. So let’s all put out positive vibes this will be their one good stay!!! I’ve got them set up in South Brisbane/South Bank so surely it can be enjoyable!! Walking distance to anything and everything.
It was medicine in itself to have them here tonight. Both ready to sign onto nursing duties tomorrow if all goes to plan! After what they saw tonight, they don’t think there’s much of a challenge in providing a better service haha
Hopefully tomorrow is release day.

Glad you've turned a corner Loz. Watch out Southbank - a mini Corowa sounds like fun!!
Hi Loren, just got back from Japan and finally caught up on your updates. What an ordeal! So glad to hear you're on the mend and have friends and family at your beck and call. 😁 Hope you've been discharged today. 🙏 Marzia
Good work Loz! Don't forget we have an electric scooter I could bring over if you want to go further distances!
Ailsa xo
Glad to hear things are looking up. Keep up the good work.

Sooo good to hear things are looking up Loz! Baby steps on that wheelie walker though!
Like the song says Loz, "What a difference a day makes", you're doing hot laps, smiles and wide eyes, well done. Now amidst all the hi - jinks, just take it easy eh? PS.
Looking good Loz
